DIETING AND FEELING MOODY, IRRITABLE AND BLAH?
When my metabolism was at its all-time low, (as a result of comp dieting on low cals and low carbs) every day felt blah, some days I felt so low I doubted I would ever see sunshine again. I thought I had to be tougher, I had to cope and I learnt how to push on despite low motivation, constantly feeing irritable, shot concentration and being utterly miserable nearly all the time.
I have since discovered that there are direct correlations between thyroid functioning, emotions and the regulation of mood. So many AHA moments.
THE EMOTIONAL EFFECTS OF LOW THYROID
So not only does extreme low calorie/low carb dieting downregulate metabolism and slow fat burning it is linked to depression, anxiety, irritability, inability to tolerate stress, emotional ups and downs, hypersensitivity to the comments of others, phobias, concentration and memory problems, brain fog, feeling crabby, moody and just blah!

TRADITIONAL LOW CAL DIET HAS HUGE IMPACTS ON EMOTIONS AND MOOD
